Biography

Steven Kvernstoen, principal of Kvernstoen, Ronnholm & Associates, Inc., heads their Acoustics Design Group. Mr. Kvernstoen’s education in architecture and music complements his training in architectural acoustics. He has been designing acoustics for architecture since 1982 and has worked on a wide variety of building types. In addition to multifamily dwellings, he has collaborated on the design of office buildings, auditoriums, court facilities, educational facilities and government buildings. Mr. Kvernstoen recently collaborated on an engineering study researching the cost implications of ANSI Standard S12.60 for classroom acoustics. His role is that of principal in charge, aiding and directing the staff at KRA in achieving spaces that respond to the performance and budget needs of the client. Mr. Kvernstoen received his B.Mu. and B.E.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota. He is affiliated with the Acoustical Society of America.
