Robert Kyle has nearly 20 years of experience in international trade law and related issues as well as extensive experience in senior positions at both the White House and U.S. Congress.
Robert rejoined Hogan & Hartson from his position as a senior administration official at the White House, having served as Associate Director for National Security and International Affairs at the Office of Management and Budget. In this position, he focused on policy, budgetary and congressional strategy decisions involving defense, foreign affairs and international economic issues. He was responsible for virtually all international functions of the U.S. government, managing a $300 billion budget.
Previously, Robert served at the National Security Council and the National and Economic Council as Special Assistant to the President for International Trade and Finance. In that capacity, he had significant responsibility over virtually all international trade issues facing the U.S. government.
Before his tenure at the White House, Robert was the Chief International Trade Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance, the Senate committee with primary jurisdiction over trade matters. Prior to his tenure with Congress, he was associated with a leading investment banking firm.
