Biography

Lori is an experienced labor and employment lawyer and a partner in the firm’s Philadelphia and Princeton offices. A seasoned and dynamic litigator with a strong background in traditional labor, Lori also has an Executive MBA, giving her unique insight into the interplay between the legal and business issues employers face. Lori’s philosophy is that proactively helping employers be the best they can be not only limits potential legal risks but also results in an engaged workforce, which in turn leads to greater profitability and success for the employer.

As one of the lead attorneys in the PCC Structurals case (365 NLRB No. 160, 2017), Lori helped to favorably change labor law on behalf of employers by convincing the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) to overturn Specialty Healthcare (357 NLRB No. 83, 2011), which had made it easier for unions to organize small groups of employees (micro units). Lori regularly represents employers before the NLRB, defends clients in grievance arbitrations, and provides labor relations counselling (including formulating comprehensive and strategic union avoidance tactics).

Lori also has extensive experience defending employers before federal and state courts and administrative agencies in matters involving Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), with particular class and collective action experience.

A frequent author and speaker, Lori regularly provides preventive counselling and training for executives, supervisors and employees on topics such as harassment prevention, the respectful workplace, effective communication and leadership, performance management, diversity and inclusion, and union avoidance. Clients describe her highly interactive training as engaging, entertaining and informative.

Lori also serves as an adjunct professor at Temple University’s Beasley School of Law where she teaches Employment Discrimination Law and as a mediator in the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s Alternative Dispute Resolution program.
