Jared Bomberg is an associate in Hogan Lovells’ Washington, D.C. office and practices in the area of privacy and information management. He regularly assists clients with the development of privacy policies and practices related to the introduction of new products and services. He has counseled clients on emerging privacy issues related to geo-location tracking, facial recognition technology, connected-car technologies, and Big Data and has conducted comprehensive privacy and data security assessments of company information practices.
Jared also has significant experience working with industry associations to help member companies find common ground on privacy and data security issues. He helps clients respond to inquiries regarding their information practices and drafts comments on, and alternative proposals for, privacy and data security legislation at the federal and state level. He also regularly counsels clients on data breach incidents.
Prior to joining the firm, Jared worked in the U.S. Senate for seven years, most recently as Counsel to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, providing advice to the Committee Chairman and other Committee Members and staff on privacy and data security legislation and other e-commerce and consumer product matters. In this capacity, Jared led the development of dozens of Congressional hearings and advised on Committee investigations. In addition to a law degree, Jared has a master’s degree in government and a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science.
